Is it okay to use two irons, one to supply the plates and another for the heaters? their centertaps will be joined to form a common ground.

why not? irons are still very cheap in our country, costs just over a us dollar per kilo, while copper costs an average U$7.5

if you have plenty of space on your chassis, this can be done easy.😀

I usually use two, or three irons for prototyping and they sound great 🙂

1 x HV + grounded heaters
1 x Floating heaters
1 x Bias

Even in the final model it only gets reduced to two, because I have floating heaters in mu-followers and/or a tube regulator supply.
