I bought some Twisted Pear Audio modules (kind of a random seeming assortment) from an estate sale a while back and I would finally like to do something with them. Here is what I have:
Buffalo 32S
COD
2x Ventus EZ
Opus USB receiver
2x Opus WM8804 Receiver
LCDPS
2x LCBPS
I was planning to use these widgets to deliver I2S to the DACs instead of the receiver boards, since I am mostly coming from tube/vinyl land and my only digital source is Tidal via smart phone.
So my main question is about the PSU modules. I was not able to find any info on the Twisted Pear website about them. Can anyone help me understand what transformer to will power them, and what voltages they put out?
I also clearly have two DACs and one I/v stage... is the Ventus better suited to one of the DACs and not the other? Or might I just as well tryout both DACs with the Ventus, if i get it all up and running?... I will be using everything single ended.
Any help (especially regarding the LCDPS and LCBPS) appreciated,

Those are pretty old modules. Have you tried the Twisted Pear Vendors Forum?

I just checked and it looks like it only goes back to 2010. Maybe check the “Wayback Machine”
Good Luck

If memory serves, the Low Current Bipolar Supply was meant to output plus and minus 15 volts and was somewhat adjustable. I think the LCDPS was a dual 5 volt supply for the DAC
Thanks for the reply. I don't see any answers about these early power modules in that section. I will keep searching.
Yes, that was it - LCBPS is a bipolar supply meant for up to about 15VDC or so (I am using some at 12V), and the LCDPS is a dual supply for DACs etc. Current limiting is set up through some 10r resistors from memory.
Thanks, may I ask what you are powering the LCBPS with? Transformer with dual 15vac secondaries?
So the Buffalo 32S needs bipolar 15vdc provided for left and right (VA). Also single 5vdc (VD).
The COD needs 7.5vdc for both VA and VD.
Each Ventus EZ board takes 12-15vdc bipolar supply.
I could focus on the Buffalo DAC, power both channels with one LCBPS and both channels of the Ventus EZ with the other LCBPS. But it seems like most people prefer to power L and R channels seperately... I assume this is believed to improve separation and imaging?
In that case, I need to scare up another pair of bipolar 15vdc supplies.
If the LCDPS does infact supply 2x ~5VDC, I can use that to power the VD on the DAC and my bluetooth widget. I will just need to figure out what transformer to power this guy- another dual secondary...

I believe Twisted Pear sold dual 15 vac and 9 vac transformers.
I have Buffalo 9018 and 9038 dac. Both using one supply for left / right channels.

Thank you, yes I now see that part of the website. They sold 9V+9V (30VA) and 15V+15V (50VA) to supply their modules. I think I have all the info I need to move forward, for now. Thanks again.I believe Twisted Pear sold dual 15 vac and 9 vac transformers.
