Would consult with you about putting twin DN2540 in my TubelabSE.
Is there a noticeable improvement in sound to do so? Or is it
most measurement result which is better?
Could it look like this? And how do you present value of the resistor (180 ohms?)?
Used 250 ohms before but thought 200 ohms sounded better. Have not measured how much mA I run through the
tube Maybe is booming..

Are you lazy or just stupid? Resistor in second drawing is not in the correct place anyway. How about using a multiturn trim-pot to set the current with some degree of precision like everyone else? If you have any doubts about the presense of such a device in your sound chain you can always replace it with a fixed resistor once you're happy with the operating point.
IME the cascoded CCS does indeed sound better.
Scroll down the page and see how to properly cascode the DN2540s. The author (not me) omits the gate stoppers, I would just use the 1k you are already using. Good luck.
