I have opportunity to get a hold of these tweeters:
Beyma cp385nd ====91EUROS
MOREL MDT-44 ====105
MOREL DMS-30S ==== 110EUROS
for a PAIR.
At first i would use them with woofers from I.Q LK3 boxes (bought them with blown twetters-all WESTRA drivers(woofer KW 160-1398/8Ohm, and twetter XDT-25-808/8Ohm ), and later i plan to get something better(better woofers, and a sub)..... and go into some hardcore DIY speakers waters 😀
I`m leaning towards Beyma........Looks like awesome driver(at least from the specs, and from a few coments on web)
ANY thoughts on this ??? 🙂

Hi, the Beyma is a total different beast as it is a compression driver ( and thus it needs a horn ).
Better to stay with the "usual" dome tweeters in the 90 dB range

Those woofers whould be just temporary solution 🙂 and i plan to add neodium magnets on those toys(more sensitivity, stronger motor, experimentacion, learning a bit, and having fun with it ) , and later on i whould get some real drivers to match the twetter.
My plan for begining is to L-PAD the beyma-s, and as i said to add/double the magnets on woofers, for a while, and then do something more serious.
But is that beyma driver better from Morels drivers ???

It's a little bit different 😱
The extra 18 dB from conventional tweeters are gained by pushing & squeezing
the air through the hole, then some gain is given by the horn.
So it's not *direct radiation* and it is different.
The power rating is different too; the application either.

I know almost everything about principals(how they work), and construction of drivers....
dinamic, ortodinamic, ribbon, AMT, electrostats, magnetostats,.........
i personaly have a pair of Quadral Shogun MK3, and choose them because of the riboons, and i know a bit about electronics 😀
But what i want know, is: are they that much worth the cash(new ones are 229 dollars)/hassel of geting them, or Morels(100euros new) are better drivers......Cause i see, a lot of people using Morels, and rarely Beymas, unles it`s an open baffle.....

I own a pair of Beyma cp385nd and find them excellent.... they seem to breath life into the music. You might want to build a high efficiency speaker around these Beymas before investing in same-old...same-old dome tweet speakers.
Maybe...sketch out your room with ideas for best speaker placement, and best seating locations for the speakers. Think .... what controlled directivity horn would best cover the seats with my desired goal for x% wall-reflected ambience? What size speaker fits your room and your efficiency goals?
90H x 40V horns are common for -cover the couch- home theater
80H x 40V a little more focus... of a larger diameter midbass
60H x 40V for more critical - or a LARGER diameter midbass
BIG Round horn... expose the room but get uniform sound pressures

Considering i like my room filled with sound, first, and last sugestions are most probable...
So the advantage of same-old same-old is in dispersion patern, and no need for horn part.....
How is your setup looking ? And what whould you sugestion be for big round horn, and for 90Hx40V ???
I have some experience tinkering with same-old cones, but never done horns(although i`m atracted to them...)
