I'm a woodworker but a stereo rookie. Recently listened to a friend's Odin MK3 speakers he made from a kit. The clarity and musical reproduction was beautiful, but there isn't much bass. But I was so impressed that I'm going to buy a kit for my new house. His kit has a T25CF002 "MILLENNIUM" tweeter and two W18E001 woofers. The ad states that this kit uses "the latest drive unit technologies from the Excel product line."
The owner of the company I'm probably going to buy from - The same one that sells the above mentioned kit - told me that if I don't mind spending a little more money, I should buy their Titanio Elite system driven by a Audiom TLR tweeter with a pair of Focal 7W4411 W-coned woofers. The owner said the system offers signifcantly better clarity and music reproduction than the Odin MK3 system and I will be able to get much more bass, if I so choose.
What I don't want is a system that has a booming bass sound that I can't lighten. Also, the speakers will be on either side of my TV on top a bookshelf, which is wide and high enough to handle either system.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Donnatol
