Tweeter Help

Its true that the series connection will not turn off the tweeter,
whilst the series/parallel connection will completely cut the tweeter.

Try both this weekend, they will sound different, and require different settings.

From full setting :

The series connection will initially gave a large effect which
progressively slows, the final half turn won't make much difference.
Halfway attenuation is ~ 8dB but with more low treble.
Full attenuation is ~ 12 dB but with more low treble.
For 6dB attenuation setting is ~ 1/3 travel.

The series/parallel connection will initially have a subtle
effect which progressively increases, the final half turn
will turn the tweeter completely off.
Hallway attenuation is ~ 11dB, treble much less affected.
Full the the tweeter is off.
For 6dB attenuation setting is ~ 1/4 travel.
So a much finer setting is needed than the series connection.

If you prefer the series connection, don't get an L-pad.

Got off early today so I re-wired those boxes and the variable resistors.I must of had them miswired before as now they sound very nice wired the way you guys suggested.Hmmm,I was sure I had them wired right before but that is what I get for thinking.Actually they sound very good this way and I think I have attenuated each tweeter by 3db and that sounds just right. The voices from the mids are not in the background as they where when I first wired them. Thanks Tony and Sreten. It was a pleasure learning something and am going to pick up The loudspeaker cookbook soon to continue my education.
