Hi, I'm looking to recreate some JBL CF-150's and have sourced the woofers and midranges from "that auction website".
However the tweeters N/A, so I assume that's why the guy parted them out.
The speakers are 98db sensitivity and sound great on 4 watt triodes (I Have another pair), so that's why I want to build another set.. however I need a tweeter that will work with this.
So does anyone have any suggestions for a tweeter that'll go nicely with this, from 4500hz and up? I see there are some ribbon tweeters that are high sensitivity, what's the verdict on that?
Also, I'm one of those guys who like the Le25 tweeter better than the newer 035ti titanium dome, it just sounds better..
Any help appreciated.

There are inexpensive dome tweeters that do 94dB/W like the Vifa BC25SC15. I think you might even be able to find something with SPL up to 96dB/W. Above that I think you will have to go with a compression driver and horn.

Those and the BG neo3 have me intrigued... How low you plan on running them?
I just looked into the JBL CF-150 details and conclude that they are more likely to be a 95 dB speaker rather than 98. They use a dome tweeter. (some specs. exaggerate)
As you mentioned, some ribbon & planner tweeters could do the job due to their high
sensitivity, however, you have to live with their dispersion characteristics.
(vertical & horizontal dispersion is not equal with ribbon & planner tweeters)
A perfect HF driver/tweeter selection for your project is the Beyma T2030.
The Beyma T2030 drivers cost about US$80 each.
If you decide to go with a high SPL horn tweeter, connect it via an L-pad to 'tune'
the output level. (I am running my tweeters via 50 watt L-pads)
Good luck with your project,
Mark

I plan to cross them 7K to 8k "ish" and see how it works. Those and the BG neo3 have me intrigued... How low you plan on running them?
