tv damper diode rectifier SPP

Hi all.
I'm about to put together an SPP. I'm going to use el86, just because NOS el84 have become ridiculously high priced. This draws a lot of B+ current. I'm thinking of using a couple of TV damper diodes for the rectification. Has anyone done this or do you have any thoughts about an appropriate candidate?
Thanks!
