I turn my diy amplifier on and off with a 5V relay. The SMPS has power for about a second more after the relay have cut. So I was thinking that I could have another relay mute my 2 boards at the same time it turns off the SMPS. This would make the turn off pop go away.
Can I short the mute from BOTH boards in 1 relay or will I have to use 2. 1 for each board.
Im a bit reluctant from "just trying"
Edit. I have 2 x dual chip TPA3116 boards.

I have built a few class d amps.
I use a 8 pin PIC micro to control the amp.
On power up it holds off speaker relay for 4 seconds.
On power down it turns off relay and holds class d chip in reset/mute until power comes back on.
Basic control is simple, hardest bit is programming A2D to read VCC volts.

Smart. Will look into that. Any idea if I can mute both boards with 1 relay? This would connect mute and gnd on both boards
Good idea. Will do that instead. The SMPS has excess power about a second or two after AC loss.
But my main question
Can I mix the mute together in 1 relay from say 2 or 4 boards?

Since you are using a single power supply then all amps share the same ground, you can connect all mute pins together.

Im not so worried combining the GND's from several boards for muting. Was more worried about combining the mute wires in a relay.
Now that I think about it. 2 chips on 1 board share 1 mute function. Will try combining more boards

My circuit was biased around B- so I had to use opto couplers to turn on/off the mute.
I used a opto coupler on each mute line of the stereo amp.
