Tuning knob stuck, can't remove

I have an analog Yamaha T-1 tuner that I am trying to replace the dial light on, since the light doesn't work anymore though the tuner does work quite well.

I took off the cover, and see at least one pair of wires going into the front right section of the dial and lamp assembly. I unscrewed all the screws holding that front assembly's frame onto the rest of the chassis. The large tuning knob, all the way on the right, doesn't have any visible set screws, so I tried to pull it off the shaft using moderate force. That didn't work, so I also tried prying it off with a small pry bar using cloth over it to keep from scratching. That didn't work either. I don't want to apply more pressure than I already did for fear of breaking something.

The front panel and tuning knob is essentially the same as the Yamaha T-2 and maybe some other Yamahas.

Thanks,

Steven

Any suggestions?
