I have Yamaha NS10M studio's which are 87 to 89 db depending on what data you read. My room is only 110 square feet. The 45's are the best sounding tube that I have heard, but will not get a "turn it down" yell from my wife. On the other hand it and the trioded 6V6 amp are the only ones that I can crank when she is home.
With my less-efficient speakers (Boston Acoustic A70s), the TSE with 45s can achieve moderate volumes. However bass is noticeably lacking before any clipping becomes noticable. It does better with 300Bs, but even then I prefer the SSE with KT88s than the TSE with those speakers.
