Well guys, I just got back from Tokyo. Thanks for all your advice and helpful tips.

Pete, your satelite maps were a real help. Also your directions to Classic Components helped me loads, it's not easy to find😀

Maro-san,thanks for the tips on the books. I managed to find 501 Kairo Syuu. A good read😀

I didn't manage to get a pair of F2011. I found a pair upstairs in Tokyo Radio Department in a stall/shop called Classic Valves. They were NOS NIB for 80,000JPY. Unfortunately I procrastinated over it and then it was the Japanese Golden Week holiday and the shop was not open again whilst I was there. Gutted, oh well a real bargain for someone😀

I did get some much smaller but rather nice 20W pushpull transformers from a stall under the tracks. Also a pair of aluminium chassis and a bunch of smaller parts such as switches connectors etc.

Anyway all in all a great trip made all the much easier buy all of you guys help. Thank you.

When I have sorted my photos and notes I will update this thread so it can help others in the future😀

Cheers
Matt

Matt-san,

Thank you very much for visiting Japan.

The schematic circuit diagram is an international language. I think you can easily understand what are drawn in schematics of 501 Kairo Syuu written even in Japanese.
If you need some assistance to confirm the explanation, I’ll help you with translation.

In December 2016, I was in Akihabara, and in the basement of the Radio Department Store, the transformer vendor was still there. Also under the tracks of the Yamanote line are one or two stalls selling vintage stuff. Didn't buy any tube stuff there, but it was fun to see.

ampexperts-san;

I belive Kenrick Sound, Ltd greatly feels delight with your visit.
They are earnest in vintage stuff. They declare their corpoarate identy as below;

We will continue craftmanship which arouses enjoyment and pleasure
We respect traditional values and also accept new technology
We address development with passion even for a small demand
(originally in Japanese)

timpert-san:

Yes, there are still the three transformer vendors, one, nemed "Noguchi", is in Tokyo Radio Department, two are in Tokyo Radio center, under the tracks of the Yamanote line, " Toei" and "Kasuga".
I visit there almost every month. Finding out vintage stuff at Akihabara is great fun for me.
