Tube Schematics

Hi Stalker,

I just took a look at the schematic of the Fender Champ Model 5E1, which I found in the Tube Amp Book from Aspen Pittman.

Indeed there are many similarities, the only differences are in the supply line, because the Fender Amp has an additional choke, which might be better. The missing choke in the Smart-10 is probably due to cost reduction reasons, however I think it is not needed, when there is no audible hum.

On the other hand the circuitry has the tubes in basic configurations, I am not sure where copying starts exactly. If the Smart-10 is just a copy, then it is not a good copy, because it uses a higher supply voltage, so the bias of all tubes is different.
After all the Smart-10 can't be beaten in the price, and the sound is ok.

Best Regards
Ralf
