Tube preamp with 6A2 shematic?

can you add a tone control before the input on the 6J1 tube version?

I examined this board from the pictures before buying. IC34063A is an old-school school voltage booster used to generate voltage to drive the tubes and the to220 component probably 5V regulator or something. I do not know anything about tubes but there is not a whole lot going on as far as I can see.
