Tube power supply caps.

Hi All,

Do these capacitors look ok for use as the primary (post rectifier) cap in a tube power supply? They look suspiciously like motor run caps but aren't marketed that way. Current ratings look to be quite high.

Appreciate any thoughts!

I used a pair of similar 47 uf 500 vac film caps from genelec for B+ supply in my H182 organ. Were rated for motor use. I'm tired of replacing electrolytic caps every 8 years. Were so big I had to mount them in a separate chassis. No problem. Ran a 600 v rated twinax cable to them, + versus return. Its been 11 years since I installed them.
