I had two questions that I was wondering about. First is: has anyone tried swapping coupling caps to change the sound of the amp? Its been my experince so far that driver tubes didnt make a huge change in the sound and I was wondering if swapping in more expensive coupling caps would have much of an effect or not? Second question is does anyone know how big the holes on the pcb are for c9 and c11? Im wanting to use miflex copper caps but the leads and a twisted pair of wire and are pretty large. Thanks
Just measured holes on new board - 0.046"
I have found a difference between Amperex and Raytheon tubes but not huge. The Amperex seem "smoother".
I have used AudioCap Thetas (matched) from Sonicraft in four amps now and they sound great. Would love to hear what folks think about others.

Thanks for taking the time to measure. You saved me from buying a set of caps that would not have fit. Website says they need at least a .065 hole. Guess I will look elsewhere. Was thining some mundorf silver/gold oils but Id be concerned about them surviving the heat inside the chassis.
Ive run both the amperex pq and the WE tubes and couldnt tell much of a difference. Just got my hands on a pair of ericsson tubes to try out too.
