Trying to remote control volume on vintage HK

Hi,

I'm new to this site and need some help trying to figure out a minor luxury. My old man just gave me his Harman Kardon 775 Amps and 725 Preamp. I've wanted these for years to work my Denon and HK turntables on for awesome sound. My little luxury I'm trying to figure out is a way to remote control the volume through some external unit. I found an old McIntosh CR-7 but was a bit more than I want to spend. Seeing if anyone has any ideas to possibly control power? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

A lot depends on your abilities and what you want.

Options could be a small stand alone box with a motorised pot and remote control. More complex could be adding (replacing) the volume control in the HK itself with a motorised one.

There are quite a few kits (I believe) from the usuals like ebay or you might want to diy it completely. It depends on your construction abilities.

(I couldn't do without remote volume control 😉)
