Trustworthy Matched LSJ74 Source - MAY 2021

Greetings fellow earthlings,

I'm looking to build the Aleph J clone and it seems like everything will be pretty easy to get, except for the "new" Linear Systems JFETs.

Are there any known trustworthy sources for these matched JFETs at this time? I would much prefer to order from DIYAudio, but they only have them available in the quad kits paired with the LSK170.

I am tempted to buy two of these 74/170 kits to get them, but I'd rather leave that stock available for folks that need that configuration.

Cheers,

Your live in the USA then why is it you cant order them direct from Linear Systems or if business only then their agents

Woah, that data book is a wealth of information, thanks for mentioning it!!

The main reason I'm not just buying direct from the manufacturer or standard re-seller is that I'm concerned with getting a pair that is closely matched. I don't have the equipment necessary to match (I just have a little AVR transistor tester I built from a kit that only tests the basics).

Very nice!

It looks like, according to this link I found, I can test them w/ a pretty simple breadboard circuit, a power supply, and DMM:

Thanks for the push in the right direction.

There were some PDFs mentioned in one of the links that were not trivial to find via simple Google searching, so I'm adding them here incase anyone is looking for them. They're some write-ups from Borbely Audio on JFETs.
