Hi all,
First post. Hope someone can help.
I am trying to set up the Dayton EMM-6 microphone and Tascam US122- MK11 phantom power to do measurements with TruRTA software. I seem to get conflicting information on the proper cabeling. Anyone know how this should be done?
Thanks,
Jim

ok i will try and help out the best that i can. First make sure that your computer has the tascam us122 recognized by right clicking the sound bar. Go to recording and playback devices individually. Make sure usb tascam are selected and are being used as the ( in and output defaults). You should be using the right or left output RCA to your amp or receiver and your XLR input for your mic. If you are using your computer to output the sound to you amp then make sure that it is selected in your devices menu. In truRTA make sure that the tascam is selected for input and your proper output is selected .. Also don’t run everything on max setting as you might get feedback from your mic put all the dials to half way and adjust from there. A simple test by hitting the go button will see if your mic is working properly .. also make sure (phantom power is turned on) .. i turn down the mic and output to half way and adjust output though the windows device level. Also in the device screen you will be able to see if the mic is working properly by preferences tab under levels. load your calibration mic file in to the true rta and do a volume calibration with a handheld SPL meter at the distance your mic is from the speaker you are testing. After don’t touch the volume or you will have to calibrate it again. don’t worry about voltage calibration unless you need to know how much voltage is being output to the amp. I do speaker driver testing and try to get to a spl of 1w\1m based on manufactures specs instead of measuring voltage.
hope this helps
