Troubleshooting my Ashdown head

I am a novice when it comes to electrical problems so I thought I'd come here.

I recently purchased an Ashdown MAG300 half stack as-is for a great price because the owner moved away and didn't care much.

When I first brought it home I made the mistake of connecting the head and cab with a shielded instrument cable. At this time there was NO sound and the input level needle didn't budge a micrometer (though its backlight illuminates), even when I cranked the input level.

I've since purchased a good unshielded speaker cable to use, still nothing. I would've expected to see some movement in the input level indicator in either case, but no dice.

So I opened up the head and took a cursory glance around the circuitry and to my delight the fuse perched atop the output jacks was clearly blown. Should be a simple fix right?

My question is this: Although that fuse is blown (whether before or due to my instrument cable mistake), should I still see movement in the input level indicator? Or could the blown fuse affect the whole circuit, despite the lamp still illuminating?
I'm wondering if my problem goes beyond this little fuse, because I would expect to see the input level show something, even if the output fuse was blown. Correct me if I'm wrong, please!
Thanks

You should see a movement whenever you play.
The output fuse has nothing to do with that.
But be aware for a dc voltage on the output.
It can fry your speaker(s).
So try it out first without any speaker to it.
If you have a second amp; connect the line out to the second amp.
That way you know the preamp is OK.
