Any suggestions for a more full-size tripod for the UMIK-1? Can't seem to figure it out and the mini tripod is basically useless.

Professional mic stand is the most suitable IMO. There are many spring loaded clamp or rubber retainer end bits to choose from.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The one on the mini tripod with the brass like thread you mean? I did not notice it unscrews because I never used the mini tripod. But you are right, now I have it in hand, its separate. Looks like standard boom end threading.
Naah, now I measured it and its standard for a camera tripod. Get one for the mic stand from the same place.
I've got one like the above photos and they're only $20 off ebay! Does an excellent job leaning into a recliner where needed and I leave it permanently standing up in the rear corner of my HT. Also I might add to buy a 5mt USB extension cable also. Just a cheapy is fine as I use that for the mics, MiniDSP 2x4 and controllers while gaming when they are low and it's the best thing I have bought as it saves trying to sit a laptop within a meter of taking measurements...
