Hello, I hope the frequency of my posts/questions isnt upsetting anyone...heres my post/question of the day!
The phase splitting and pp output duties on my amp are performed by a pair of 6gw8/ecl86 High-Mu Triode -- Sharp-Cutoff Pentode tubes. I am assuming that the phase splitting is done by either 2 triodes or 2 pentodes, and the other two do the outputting. Knowing the "High-Mu Triode -- Sharp-Cutoff Pentode " description of the tubes, does this say anything about whether its the triodes or pentodes doing the outputting? I am just trying to understand the schematic before I do any surgury...thanks for your patience

Why bother guessing? Just look at the datasheet for the tube.
Doing so, you'll find that the pentode section has 9W dissipation compared to the 0.5W of the triode section.
