Looking back it seems like all the wrong decisions were made. But at least we had a properly defined black level

NTSC - Never twice the same color

SECAM - Something essentialy contrary to the american method (ie typically french)

PAL - Perfect at last

Further OT:

Just about a year to go before on air ntsc analog broadcasting ends here.

Me, I've still good me good old Sony V series set, ntsc with digital chassis, ancient s-video i/o. Low rez all the way, and it's a real back breaker to move, weighing in at about 80lbs.. I'm waiting for the led back lit sets to show up in stores, I still find the color of fluorescent back lit flat screens a little odd. (getting better though) Prices need to be lower. I can either have nice tube hifi projects or an expensive tv, not both, and everyone here knows what I chose..
