Maybe a silly question, but what if you go straight from R2R DAC (minus opamp) to the tube pre?

Unfortunately my tube pre is a buffer. The R2R DAC has 1VPP which is not enough to drive my Sennheisers to any meaningful level. With my Horn system via the Dartzeel that might be a different story though.

Radian, how did you achieve zero osfet at the output without an operational amplifier?

Sorry I never corrected that. I accidentally measured not realizing that one probe wasn't inserted deep enough .
I'm using coupling caps between the Accuphase clone board and the tube pre.

Hotel audio fun, I love it. There’s a newer, fully differential version of the Yun dac. Though I suspect the SE is the way to go…
