Transport to be run off 12v

Hi,
for you guys this question is probably very easy as I assume most CDPs run off 12v DC and just step down the mains.

I want a transport to run off a 12v battery for use in my 'real' car hifi.
It will be partnered with a modded SI T-amp fostex speakers and maybe DAC in a Box http://www.diykits.com.hk/dac.html so I would be looking for a similar quality. I can follow simple instructions, but have negligable electronics knowledge.

Any suggestions?

I am looking for a CDP normally used in a house not something car stereolike (though that would be better than nowt.) Though a smaller box would be better

cdpro kit can be run from a 12v supply fairly easy. Cant get much more of a pure transport than that.
