Transmissivity is the percentage of the total luminance from the
backlight that is transmitted through the LCD to the user
have you wondered howmuch light actualy gets thru your lcd?
well theres a way to find out!! the key is to findout howmany
nits your backlight produces then locate the brightness of your
lcd display
the stated brightness of your lcd is a percentage of the total
nits your backlight produces
with those 2 figures you can deturman whats the % of
light your lcd will transmit
for example if your backlight produces 5700 nits
and your lcd has a brightness of 234nits
your Transmissivity will be 4.1%
now take that 4.1% and figure what your ansi lumens will be
on the screen based on your projector specs
for example if your ohp produces 7000 lumens
and your transmissivity is 4.1%
you get 287 ansi lumens
