Transistors: D1047,TIP42 -> pinout ?

Hi

According to the datasheets there is no connection from any pin to case ( the metal back).
So, may we use them without these common plastic insulator mini-sheets ?

TIP42 definitely has the collector connected to the metal tab.
Unless the package is all plastic all devices are similar with exposed metal as the collector.

Well, I pulled out the multimeter,
in both cases the collector is tied to the metal tab,
case closed, thanks.
