Transients and Crossover Components

I've read in several places that transients can peak at upto 500watts even though the average going through the driver is less than 150watts, would such transients be significantly attenuated by lower rated inductors/capacitors that are only rated at 200w or less?

Or do these ratings not affect transient peaks?

As far as the component is not damaged by over current or over voltage it should have no effect on the amplitude of transients in their frequency range.
