Thing is, people have budgets and they feel if they spend under the budget they'll not get such a good performance as they're able to afford. So really you gotta now consider how to put the $40 back in again in another way with a positive story behind it 🙂

haha - you could use my story as an example - I have just spent the last 48 hours listening to a dac that I had re-capped in 5 minutes for $40 USD, the capacitance per rail went from 2,200uF to 22,000uF. The result, no difference in sound whatsoever - and I'm down $40! [In fact, I'm more worried about high frequency pulses....but can't hear anything so will leave it as it is instead of wasting electricity to re-solder again!!]

yes, and the more snobbish types cringe if you tell them the cost.....if the cost is too low to their liking they will just shrug them off as non audiophile because of the low cost.....

they are of the mindset that anything costing big bucks are high fi....😀
