Hmmm (no pun intended), I wonder why my trafo generates so much EMI then; I know it's wound very tightly.
Nope...otherwise moving the transformer away from the driver boards wouldn't help. This is EMI.It might be grounding problem more than RFI.
More isolation on the inputs seems to help a little. Also, my tube preamp makes some noise of its own, and the trafo EMI and the preamp noise seem to cancel each other out! I increase the volume of the preamp, and the total noise is reduced. Very weird.
