Any recommended suppliers of transformer bobbins, wire, etc.? I've found a couple of places that offer laminations, but can't seem to locate bobbins. U.S. source ideal, but not essential. I'd want something in the EI 110-114 range.

Manila is not referring to the bobbin contruction material?

no. bobbin materials are made of plastic, the kind that is heat resistant and eill not melt in actual use..

manila is where i am at the moment, but i will be in sahkalin by 29th of august.

😀

these materials are cheap and lightwieght so shipping them to the states should not be difficult. the lams are better sourced there in the states...

hi sheldon,

to give you an idea, that bobbin shown above has a center leg of 1 3/4in and stack depth of 3in and cost is not even U$1 ....

i am also quite sure that you know some Filipinos in San Diego, ask them, they can help you..
😀

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I do know Filipinos, both first and later generations. After WWII, many Filipino men enlisted in the U.S. Navy. When their service was fulfilled, they were granted citizenship if they applied for it. San Diego, having a large navel presence (not to mention warm weather), was a natural choice for residence. Women also came in large numbers, especially those professionally trained in health care and nursing. In fact, a large community of San Diego, called Mira Mesa, was referred to in the Filipino community as "Manila Mesa, because of its large concentration of Filipino residents.
