Got a really nice 2watt wreck that i want to put into an existing combo cab. The cab has 220mm whole in baffle! I need 270mm for a nicely broken in Lorantz driver. What effect will choking up the hole have? Glad to lose some SP even tho
its only 2 watt dirty, its still F O loud. speaker guru,s please pronounce

Depends.

I did this with a cabinet that had holes for 8" drivers, and rear-mounted 10"s in it. When I played loud bass guitar, the cones came forward and hit the front baffle, so I got a chisel and removed wood from the front baffle until the cones stopped hitting.

If there's enough spacing between the cone and the baffle, you'll be fine. This is for guitar, right?
