I have a stereo tda3118 board, and would like to use it with a single speaker.
1) I have read that this chip has a mono mode, but I do not know how to enable.
2) Other possible option is to bridge or parallel the stereo outputs, but I am unsure is this is safe to do it with this chip.
(The speaker is a small 3" that does not need much power)
3) My last option is to connect a load on one of the channels.
Any hint or advise on which option is best will be so useful!
Thank you,

Hi Jorge,
A stereo board with a single TPA3118 chip? If both stereo channels are in phase and have the same gain, you can normally sum the two channels at the output through two 0.5 Ohm power resistors. That is for SE-coupling.
TPA3118 normally use BTL-coupling in which case you have to combine each set of outputs that operate in phase using four 0.5 Ohm power resistors.
Understandable?

It may be easier, and cheaper, to buy one of these:

Thank you FauxFrench & Yatsushiro,
Yes, it is is easier to use the mono board, but I have several amp-boards arround and want to use one of those. I will couple the outputs with 4 resistors. Thank you again,
