I looked over several threads, posted in another forum and didn't get much interest, so I'll try again here. I have no experience building electronics and would like to have a successful build the first time out. I have the following board:
Yuan Jing Audio - TPA3116 Class-D 2.1 Stereo Amplifier [50W x 2]+ Sub-Woofer Board [100W] [A] - $28.60
First question, I want to extend the power supply to mount on the case so I can easily disconnect cord. How do I do this? A 2.1 pigtail to 2.1 metal jack?
Second question, I want to add an external switch, preferably a lighted toggle or rocker switch. I know I need to run the power through the switch and then out to the case, but which switch should I use?
I would prefer to do as little soldering as possible but don't mind some (gotta learn sometime). Can someone steer me in the right direction?

Not clear from your description what you are trying to achieve. If I found the correct board on the website it has a power toggle switch and 3 pots on the front of the board and a pair of RCA sockets and a power socket on the rear? This would mean you need to make or adapt a case to be the exact length of the board. If you are using their power supply then keep it separate (not in the case), it would plug into the wall outlet and into the back of the amplifier.
Switch amplifier off using its provided switch, switch power supply at the wall socket or un-plug as you would with a laptop supply.
Are you using a single audio source or do you need input selection?
