Ive been thinking about doing something really cool for quite awhile now, and just came across a vintage Kodak projector on craigslist here;

I think it would be really cool to have a vintage projector converted to a modern one. Are there LCD's out there with a good resolution that would fit roughly the size of the film frame?

I agree it would look neat. There are no off the shelf LCD's that I'm aware of (at least in a decent price range) that would fit. Plus the optics are 50 years old, the light source is made for film, not an lcd that sucks up much more light. Could be done, but you would have to spend a pretty penny to keep things small.

(The title on the listings page will be removed in just a few minutes.)
I know the optics are old, the bulb etc would be revamped to handle an LCD, but the trickiest part would be locating a screen that would work, and thats what I havent been able to locate.
There is no screen that will work for the right resolution/cost. I would figure out how much much "dead space" is available in the unit. Probably to best bet would be to find a 5" lcd and build it to project into the existing optics. Or maybe gut it and rebuild it alltogether. The posting for that projector is gone so im not sure what kind of size we are looking at.
