Hey all, I recently was handed down an nView Viewframe II + 2 panel. When I plug it in the my computer, I get no image, and I'm beginning to wonder if this panel is even compatible to plug into my computer. If so, can someone please instruct me on how to get the darn thing to work, the buddy that gave it to me didn't give me any instructions. When I got the panel I decided to make it my senior project to make one of these DIY projectors, a very simple one, because I own an overhead projector. I saw that this panel is only black and white, but on the side I see color options, so that confuses me. But regardless, I really need help here, if anyone would be so kind as to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks so much.

does the panel have a power supply/is it working? test the power from the panel's supply.

if the panel has on-screen controls for geometry, brightness etc., and they don't display you either have a bad backlight or a bad display.

ok first did you enable the second monitor options on your laptop? also the res on this panel is 640x480 so when you enable the second monitor option on the laptop set the panel to 640x480 otherwise it prolly wont work at all . and everything iv ever seen says its only B/W but for the project i guess that really dont matter good luck! oooo also are you getting any sort of splash screen ? saying nview blah blah blah ?? if not it may be the panel its self

no, i get no splash screen saying nview. Also, Im not running from a laptop, but im getting a brand new laptop soon, thats what im willing the strip the LCD panel that I have now, assuming thats nothing too technical 😱 . Otherwise I may look into different project ideas =/

well are you running it off of a pc ? or anything right now ?
it should show some sort of splash screen even with no input source
so that is a problem. it is a very cheap panel id take it apart and check it out ... cant hurt it since its not working already also if you really want to do this project you can get a perty cheap panel off of ebay 640x480 res but if you want 1024 x 768 it will cost more 🙂
