Total Noob- Give me your diagnosis

Okay, so after browsing the typical Yahoo answers/YouTube type sites I have given up and decided to just come to the experts.
I purchased my house last year and there were two Polk Audio speakers out by the pool, but they have always been very quiet.
I have them connected thru my Sonos Connect Amp to the same system that controls my indoor surround sound system (side issue, I would separate them, but Sonos Connect amp only has two inputs. Any way to add additional inputs to Connect Amp?)
In order to hear anything coming from the pool speakers I have to crank up the volume so loud that the indoor speakers are screaming.
I assumed that the outdoor speakers were old/defective so I purchased a Polk Atrium 8 and mounted it yesterday. Stripped off a new section of speaker wire, made my connections. Same problem. Can barely hear anything coming out of the new speaker and the indoor speakers are at full blast.

Learning that it wasn't the speakers I replaced the original exterior speakers and will be returning the Atrium 8.

What parts of the system could be causing this? Can speaker wire "go bad?" Should I run new wire?

Inside, there is a volume control for the outdoor speakers that I do have turned all the way up.

Anyway, I am sure that I have left out tons of detail that you would need to make a proper diagnosis, but that's about the extent of my knowledge base at the moment. I'm happy to try different options and learn! Thank you for any advice you can offer! I'm excited to get the speakers working well for a full Summer of hanging out by the pool 🙂

Check to see if there were transformers place in the system. I've seen 70 volt line distributions systems set up in homes where the wiring and transformers were buried in ceilings and walls.

Check the continuity of the wiring open and closed to reveal if this is the case.
