An Arduino would be more than capable of handling WM8805. I believe I saw posts about them being used together by members in this forum.
It's perfectly alright to be without a remote for the switch to work, but I think it has to at least have a manual button on its front panel for a user to start an automatic rotation if the switch locks on to an unwanted feed, which, in my opinion, happens a lot more than likely.

Well, a button is a better and easier way to control the switch. However i noticed that my sources are completely off when not playing music, the toslink has no Red light. This would be a good feature helping the switch to select the right toslink reciever.
