Hi

Can Anyone out there help me, I have the amp above and it has blown. I've had it looked at and was told that the power transistor has blown. They guy that looked at it can't seemto find one anywhere.
Its a T103 type and on the top it has A1000N 002.

Does anyone know where I can find one, or an alternative please ??

I have done a search and there is a thread about aMusic Fidelity amp with similar numbers, But I'm not sure if they are the same or not !!

Thank you

Trevor

Trev, I have a similar one here with the same fault, to repair for a guy. I have traced the circuit from looking at the board, and I have found that they are both silicon NPN power transistors, although they both showed emitter-collector short-circuits and could not thus be read on my analyser..

You may safely use the following type: MJ15003, which is a 140 volt 20 amp type, also NPN. It's a bit expensive. You may also, at a push, and they are much cheaper, use 2N3055, which come in on ebay at less than £1 a go.

These are only 60 volt 15 amp types, but the transformer is rated at 31-0-31 volts, with a no-load DC voltage of + or - 45 volts, so you should be all right.

Let me know how you get on.
