For some reason I have a problem when it comes to reading the schematic and hooking up transformers. Dual primaries/secondaries which set gets connected where, parallel or series etc. Don't even include a center tap or I'm done for sure.
For us noobie's that may be in the same boat would it make sense if we had a sticky that everyone could list:
xformer Brand
VA rating
Primary config
Secondary config
Center tap?
Maybe even more info like your setup and if it hums, don't like it or whatever.
Here are mine:
(2) Avel Lindberg 250VA 2x25v Dual Primary and Secondary
http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/avelspecs.pdf
Primaries: Purple/Blue go to AC Hot and Grey/Brown go to AC Neutral. Using them with chipamp's brds with dual mono block and rectifiers. These have an audible hum and one was DOA. Bought from parts express.
(2) Antek AN-4225 400VA 2x25v Dual Primary and Secondary
http://www.antekinc.com/AN-4225.pdf
Primaries: Red/Red go to AC Neutral and Blk/Blk go to AC Hot. Currently using one with audiosector's dual mono block and rectifiers with premium components. These are large. I ordered 300VA but they sent me 400VA cuz they were out of stock. They also have a slight hum at startup then is barely audible. Ok build quality and are cheaper at $45

Not according to their Tech support guy. THe said red to neutral and that's the way I currently have it hooked up and it's working but i guess that doesn't mean he's right.

It shouldn't matter which one goes to hot and which one goes to neutral so long as you are consistent between the two primaries.
To wire for 230V you would wire the black from the one primary to the red of the other primary, and then connect the two remaining leads to AC hot and AC neutral.
