That's what Krell uses on the KAV-300IL integrated amp, which has a 734VA toroid.
Simple as that.
Works fine.
A 10W / 420V VDR does the trick, and it costs 1€.

I've made some soft start boards. Due to the requirement of minimum order, I've got a few extra. I'd be willing to part with a few, any interest, just email offline. Full description at the link provided, if you want to know how it works. Fyi, you need separate PS. I've got extra MOSFETs for this and potentially some other parts so if you need anything let me know.
