Here, it would be Johns Hopkins and Harvard, though one could argue that for particular specialties, one might find a better school here or there.
thanks SY for your reply.
ground reality about an institution in a country is known by its citizens.websites can be deceiving.
so please list good medical colleges in your countries.
Norway,Sweden,Germany,France etc etc.🙂

University of Capetown
University of the Witwatersrand
It is generaly considered excellent training especially if you want to get into trauma work.

I would add Columbia University (which is wed at the hip to Cornell) here in New York, Yale in New Haven, University of Pennsylvania, Washington U. in St. Louis. Harvard and Johns Hopkins are usually ranked #1 and #2, however.
As the XYL is a molecular biologist/cancer researcher these are the familiar names we see when she goes around the country (and globe) giving presentations.
Overhere it entirely depends on the area of expertise, for general medicin it's the scarf or shoe color that makes the difference.
I learned trauma work at E.R., still have a nice collection of Leibinger surgical clamps and cutters from that era.
And on which side of the knife you are, according to my pocketfilling specialist girlfriend all academic hospitals are butcher shops.

Sagarvema,
there's not a MBBS program overhere, only full MD degrees at university.
The only development in the medical field overhere has been the introduction of a degree that is somewhere inbetween an MD and a fully licensed surgeon.
BS degrees have only recently been introduced at universities in Europe, there are BS programs in bio-medicin.
Places like Harvard should not have in general medicin either, only MD and PhD courses.
There are bachelor programs in the medical field, but not in the university range. Probably confusing for someone familiar only with the Anglo/American system.
For a MBBS i'd pick one with a fancy name, that should be good for stepping in an MD course more easily.
I'm a booz and boobs type, i'd pick Paris, Madrid or the like.

Sweden
Hi Sagarverma
In Sweden i would say
Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm
Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala
Sahlgrenska in Göteborg
Linköpings universitetssjukhus.
Universitetssjukhuset in Lund.
I do not know which would be best if you are looking for MBBS (surgery?).
I know that heart transplants are done in Lund and at Sahlgrenska.
Research wise i think that Karolinska has a good reputation.
To be noted i am not in the medical business and this is just a feeling and it might be biased.
Edit: And i think there are only full MD programmes here.

its MD not MBBS.error is regreted.
nothing like that.the citizens of a country know better about the institutes of their country, info on websites can be deceiving, but what the citizens tell, even if they r not in that feild,is generally true to great extent.

Mr Dean,
not a surgeon, i just collect all kind of papers.
The Mrs here did surgery, then went to Africa, came back and did 4 years specialist training.
But i do think my stitches are better than hers, and i am great with combat knives.

ok.
i am still a student who would like to earn one more degree(MTech, equivalent of MS)
whats the use of being jack of all when u r master in none.😉
better concentrate properly on one to master it rather than working on multiple and getting only a taste of each.
this forum is frequented intellectuals. So they will know for sure which institutes are good in their countries.and with the extent to which they are ready to help,i doubt if i will get wrong info🙂
