Sure.
You can do anything you want...and a jigsaw is a great "anything" saw. To make things easier, you might want to try using Sonotube. Then you will only need to cut two plywood/MDF circles to cap on the ends.😀

That's how I did my first.
However, it is difficult to get straight, square cuts with most jigsaws. Even a throwaway $40 circular saw guided against a straightedge will get better results - less filler needed, less frustration. Or you could use a router and 1/4" straight bit against a straightedge, then you'd have the right tool for teh driver cutout. With inexpensive/low power toold just remember that you need to take shallow cuts and go fairly slow. My $50 Craftsaman router lasted therough many sets of speakers and other jobs before the bearings gave out. It is still Ok for rough work, 15 years later.
