It was amazing how he was suffering dementia yet the minute the music started he came to life and didn’t miss a note! Thanks for all the great songs and memories that go with them. He was the last of the greats.
I saw him live at Chautauqua at least a couple of times over the 20 years or so that I visited there during the summer season. His music was not exactly my cup of tea, but I enjoyed the shows, and those of a number of other artists I saw there. Performing up to the end of his life was something of a gift, a consummate and very talented show man.
