They kicked off punk in the UK with their '76 tour.
Without them music would have evolved very differently. They moved the goal posts more than any other band of that era.
I saw them in around '80 when they fought with Motorhead over the title of 'loudest rockband in the world' whom I saw a week later in the same venue.
It wasn't even close... Ramones all the way!
The first band of my youth which has completely died out.
At least that prevents any embarrassing reuniting in ten years time.
