Hi all, whats the general opinion on fuses in the plus and minus rails?
Is it OK to just rely on fuses in primaries of the mains transformer, or does safety dictate that the rails should have fuses too.
The amplifier I'm (still ) building is a KSA50 clone biased at 1.7A it has loudspeaker protection PCB after the output.
Thanks
Alan

I would include fuses in the rail on safety (fire) and PCB damage limitation in the case of catastrophic failure.
Better to be safe than to be sorry! as long as they are the appropriated amperage, I would use fuses in the + and - rails for sure😉.
And the rail fuses should be fast-acting, unlike the mains fuses, because they'll never see the inrush current your mains fuses will see.
