Hi,
For a highish Qts mid bass your looking at some bass peaking,
or stupidly large cabinets to avoid it. It reduces the amount of
BSC required. Drivers with downtilted responses reduce BSC.
0.5 way gives 6dB of BSC and with that driver it may be too much.

I think I understand. So am I right in thinking I may actually not need the 2 drivers for the 0.5 way, maybe one would suffice (for less BSC or even none)? I guess simulation will tell...!!

It's normal to use half compensation with a single added driver. Full compensation once in a room alot of the time sounds boomy.
