Hi,
It isn't a VU meter circuit and why you'd want a low pass circuit is beyond me.
You need to rectify the AC signal (full or half wave), and apply this to a
circuit with the correct attack (shortish) and decay (longish) such that
the meter will read VU units according to the standard for VU meters.
I can't remember the details and won't spend my time looking them up.
But so far its completely wrong for driving a moving coil VU meter.
Service manuals for loads of equipment with VU meters will show the way.
Do some proper research.
