Tivoli radio audio fading

A friend has a radio that the audio fades, not sure the model. Tivoli claims there is no problem and they can't exchange because its out of production. I will get more details asap. Any help would be appreciated

I have a portable Tivoli and when the battery gets old and stale the audio fades. A new battery fixed it.
