Photo is from the underside. When the base metal panel is fitted the heater wires are very close the chassisI'm not sure that I like the wiring for the tube filaments, heater wiring should
be against the chassis and not go over the high input impedance pins on the tubes.
Ok, did most of the work yesterday.
Just waiting for new E5 lamps now.
While in there I converted the spare input to an output for a sub or tape.
Got a couple more twists on the heaters above the tube sockets.
Input now direct to first stage, that is one pot, 2 switches and a fair bit of wiring bypassed now.
Now totally silent. Had to look at the heaters to even be sure it was on.
Soon as I the first needle dropped I could hear an improvement. Magical.
Will run in through today then have a proper listen tonight.

I have a Beard P-100( not MKII), and the power button switch and standby button switch
were not functioning well now. The power button switch has 8 connections and the standby button has 2 connections
Could you guys provide me resources to buy replacement switches.
Thank you very much!

Hi El Donkey
I have one of these amplifiers (Beard AS P50 Power amplifier), and both meter lights are out and would like to replace meter bulbs. Have scanned unit but access to replace bulbs perplexes me and really don't want to disturb things unnecessarily to access. Did you ever manage to replace the meter bulbs yourself ... and if so how? I was hoping the amp designer would see this as a servicable part and allow relatively easy access?
PS my P50 amplifer also hums a little (not intrucively and only slightly noticeable when no music playing)) but I (no expert) just accepted this as transformer generated noise which was part and parcel of a vintage valve amplifier? The sound it produces in my humble opinion greatly outweighs the faint hum. Had amplifier for about 30 years but not from new so no idea if there was no hum when new.
Any tips on meter bulb replacement for this amplifier greatly appreciated.
